The Epilepsy Society of Australia Limited welcomes applications from those interested in becoming members of our organization to assist us with our goals and objects.
Categories of membership are:
- Ordinary membership – Open to nominated persons working in the field of the epilepsies or in kindred fields, including healthcare professionals and scientists; and who are Australian citizens or residents, irrespective if based in Australia or abroad. Annual subscription: AU$195.00 incl of GST. Each Ordinary Member is entitled to vote on each matter at every Meeting of the members.
- Ordinary membership – special group – as for Ordinary membership, with a reduced fee being applicable to trainees, fellows, nurses, research or clinical students, allied health, neurophysiology scientists, research scientists, and ordinary members on parental leave. Annual subscription: AU$95 incl of GST. Entitled to vote on each matter at every Meeting of the members.
- Distinguished membership – Awarded by the Board to nominated individuals whom the ESA wishes to honour for their outstanding contribution to the field of the epilepsies and/or to the ESA. Distinguished membership will be exempt from membership fees. Each Distinguished Member is entitled to vote on each matter at every Meeting of the members.
- Associate membership – Open to nominated persons who are members of other ILAE or IBE chapters, or citizens of neighbouring countries which do not have an ILAE or IBE chapter; and working in the field of the epilepsies or in kindred fields, including healthcare professionals, scientists, and leaders of epilepsy support organisations. Annual subscription: AU$95 incl of GST. Members of the New Zealand League Against Epilepsy and citizens of countries from the Oceanian region which do not have an ILAE or IBE chapter are exempt. Associate Members are ineligible to vote at meetings of members.
- Senior membership – Open to existing ordinary members, who have retired and; who have been working in the field of epilepsy or in kindred fields, including healthcare professionals and scientists; have been an ordinary member for at least 5 years; and have been in good standing. Senior Members will be exempt from membership fees. Each Senior Member is entitled to vote on each matter at every Meeting of the members.
Memberships are 12 months from the date of payment. Memberships renew automatically and members will receive notification prior to each renewal.
